The Unity Homes and Enterprise group provides a variety of housing, employment and business development services to people in the more disadvantaged parts of Leeds.

Our housing association manages around 1,390 homes in Leeds and Kirklees and is actively engaged in developing new homes. The main role of the Operations Committee is to review and monitor the delivery of services to tenants living in our properties. These include building new homes, repairs and maintenance, lettings and estate management and wider community development, resident engagement, and tenant involvement.

We have recently embarked on a new five-year corporate plan, which among other things, is about driving up the quality and effectiveness of current services.

We are looking for an independent committee member to complement the skill set of our Operations Committee as we respond to this new challenge. We are looking for an individual who supports our Values, is committed to teamwork to make things better for our customers and communities and with an interest and experience in:

• Improving housing services
• Driving up service and business performance
• Introducing innovation and creativity in housing management

An understanding of the communities we serve, and local issues would be an advantage but is not essential.

Our committee meets quarterly, meetings are mostly online but we encourage at least one in person meeting a year.
